ECoW

ENVIRONMENTAL CLERK OF WORKS

The effective use of an ECoW on your project will help to prevent significant impacts on the environment and ecology by contractors and subcontractors. The ECoW will work closely with the client and contractor to ensure compliance with any planning conditions, contract conditions or CIRIA best practice guidance. The ECoW role is to ensure that issues are addressed early enough in the construction process and that each of the parties is aware of their roles and responsibilities within the project.

  1. ECoW on site during the construction process

  2. Environmental Auditing during the project

  3. Environmental monitoring: licensing and establishment of exclusion and buffer zones for key protected species

  4. Tool Box Talks to site personnel on a range of subjects including protected species and water quality management

  5. Water Quality monitoring and compliance sampling and measuring key parameters during works

  6. Reporting and presentations at progress meetings and stand-down days
